About this course
Digital marketing has transformed how organisations communicate with customers. Websites, social media, search, email, mobile platforms, content and digital communities have created new ways for organisations to build relationships and generate commercial value.
At the same time, AI and automation are changing how marketers create content, analyse audiences and manage campaigns.
This course introduces you to this environment while developing the practical and creative skills needed to participate in it.
You will explore digital channels, content, customer engagement, campaign planning and analytics while developing an understanding of how digital activity connects to wider business objectives.
Digital marketers increasingly influence how people discover, evaluate and interact with organisations. You will consider ethical digital marketing, responsible communication, data use and the wider social impact of digital platforms.
Sustainability and themes connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will also provide opportunities to consider how digital marketing can support responsible consumption, social awareness and positive organisational change.
You will explore digital marketing in local, national and international contexts. Digital platforms allow even small organisations to reach audiences around the world, creating opportunities for businesses while also requiring an understanding of different cultures, markets and customer expectations.
Lincolnshire provides a strong local context through sectors including food and agriculture, tourism, retail, manufacturing and professional services, all of which increasingly rely on digital channels to engage customers.
The course also encourages you to think critically about technology. Successful digital marketing is not simply about using the newest tool; it is about understanding customers, choosing appropriate channels and creating activity that delivers value.
