  • Link context is poorly formatted — many links do not indicate where they lead or whether they open in a new tab. The map link present on several pages is missing accessible text entirely — WCAG 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context) (AA) and WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (A)
  • Text does not reflow to a single column when the browser window is resized. At 400% zoom, certain text elements overlap each other, and the cookie notice expands beyond the visible screen area without the ability to scroll — WCAG 1.4.10 Reflow (AA)
  • At 200% zoom, the "Apply for September 2026" link is no longer visible — WCAG 1.4.4 Resize Text (AA)
  • Line height and text spacing cannot be modified — WCAG 1.4.12 Text Spacing (AA)
  • Focus indicators are not visible when tabbing through images, text, accordions, or checkboxes on some pages. At 200% zoom and above, the keyboard tabs through the hamburger menu whilst it is closed — WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible (AA)
  • When overlay elements such as the search bar, cookie banner, or hamburger menu are open, keyboard focus can move to page content behind them, leaving the focused element completely hidden from view — WCAG 2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured (Minimum) (AA)
  • When the search bar is expanded, the keyboard focus skips the navigation menu links and can only reach them by tabbing backwards — WCAG 2.4.3 Focus Order (A)
  • Some content is inaccessible due to client-side scripting, and some elements use invalid or incorrect ARIA attributes — WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (A)

Colour and images:

Media:

Documents:

  • Some PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen readers. Known issues include missing document titles, no specified language, images without alternative text, and content that is not correctly tagged — WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content (A), WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (A), WCAG 2.4.2 Page Titled (A) and WCAG 3.1.1 Language of Page (A)

Content Outside the Scope of the Accessibility Regulations

PDFs and documents: Some PDFs and Word documents are essential to our services. We plan to fix or replace these with accessible HTML pages. Documents published before 23 September 2018 that are not essential to our services are exempt under the regulations.

Live video: Live video streams do not have captions, which fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.4 (Captions – Live). Live video is exempt from the accessibility regulations, and we do not plan to add live captions.
