Alongside compulsory core modules, some courses offer optional modules. Optional modules are subject to availability and this depends on factors such as student numbers, staffing, and timetabling. This means that specific optional modules cannot be guaranteed to run every year.In exceptional circumstances, Lincoln Bishop University reserves the right to make changes to modules, courses, or parts of courses, including withdrawing or amending provision where necessary. This may include situations where there is insufficient student demand to make a module or course viable to run, or where changes are required due to academic, staffing, or operational reasons.Where such changes are necessary, the University will take reasonable steps to inform affected applicants or students as soon as possible and will aim to minimise any disruption to your studies.Course Validation/RevalidationLincoln Bishop University regularly reviews its courses to ensure they remain up to date, academically robust, and aligned with developments in professional practice and industry.Some courses may be shown as subject to validation or subject to revalidation. This means the course, or recent changes to it, are going through the University’s formal approval process. The current status of each course is shown on the individual course pages.Who Will Teach and Support YouYou will be taught and supported by a range of academic and professional staff. This may include lecturers, senior lecturers, professors, practitioners, technicians, and visiting specialists.You may also benefit from peer learning and support from other students as part of your academic experience.Teaching Time and Attendance ExpectationsTeaching hours vary depending on your course and may include lectures, seminars, workshops, practical sessions, tutorials, and supervised learning.As a general guide, full-time undergraduate students should expect to spend around 37 hours per week on their studies during term time. This includes both timetabled teaching and independent study.Independent study is a key part of university learning. For each hour of scheduled teaching, you should normally plan to spend additional time on reading, research, assessment preparation, and revision.Most courses require regular attendance at on-campus teaching activities across the week, as well as participation in group work and use of specialist facilities and learning spaces.How You Will Be AssessedAssessment methods vary by course and module. These may include coursework, written examinations, practical assessments, presentations, group work, portfolios, and reflective assignments.Details of assessment methods for each course can be found on individual course pages and in module information. The Lincoln Bishop University Student EDI Poster Prize
Andrew Gower, Vice Chancellor of the University, said: "This prize is now in in its third year and is now open to all current Lincoln University students. To date, prize winners have come from the PGCE Secondary Programme; however, advocating an inclusive agenda, the BRIDgE team is keen to encourage a wider group of students to take part in this competition and so share the good work occurring across the university. This includes, for example, the 'SENDI, Inclusion and Diversity' module in Early Childhood Studies, the 'Histories of Identity' in Archaeology and the 'Understanding Educational Inequality' in Education Studies and Sport. "To help Lincoln Bishop University achieve our goal 'of creating community and belonging through thoughtful action', could tutors please draw students' attention to the EDI prize and ask them to consider submitting an entry.
