Lincoln Bishop University are proud to partner with Franklin Sixth Form College! 


As part of the new collaboration, students will have the opportunity to study at their local college based in Grimsby, whilst receiving teaching and support from university academics and a university accredited qualification. 

Lincoln Bishop academics will be attending the Franklin College campus and running a schedule of sessions for students who would like to go on to teach post-16 or further education learners. 

Stefan Fusenich, Programme Leader for Initial Teacher Education at Lincoln Bishop University, said: “This collaboration marks a truly exciting step forward for aspiring teachers in our region. By bringing Lincoln Bishop University’s teachertraining expertise directly into the heart of Franklin Sixth Form College, were creating a powerful new pathway into the profession. 

“Students will be able to train where they study, supported by outstanding practitioners, while gaining qualifications awarded by Lincoln Bishop University. Its a partnership built on shared values, shared ambition, and a shared commitment to developing the next generation of inspirational educators.”

Lincoln Bishop recently developed and launched Strategy 2030 – defining the vision for the University by 2030. With a focus on Inspiring Opportunities delivered through Transformative Experiences, the partnership positively supports these strategic goals across campuses and in the lives of students and their communities. 

Depending on their current qualifications, students can choose between undertaking a PGDE or a Level 5 Certificate in Education.

The Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (Teaching Post-16 and Further Education) – also available with a SEND route of study, offers education, training and development to graduates who are practising or aspiring teachers who wish to teach further education in college settings, with private sector training providers, or as part of offender education. 

The Level 5 Certificate in Education (Teaching Post-16 and Further Education) is a similar qualification available for non-graduate subject or vocational specialists – available with an Academic/Vocational or SEND routes of study.
