Start Your Future at the UK’s No.1 for Teaching Quality (NSS 2025) - Apply for September 2026

Our first-year business students are jumping straight into real-world enterprise – proudly joining the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Charity Heli-raiser Class of 2025 challenge!

This high-impact initiative brings together 13 organisations and 49 ambitious teams. From day one of their course, our business students aren’t just learning theory; they’re building confidence by thinking like entrepreneurs, pitching fundraising strategies and collaborating under pressure just as they would in industry. It’s hands-on, outward-facing experience that develops commercial awareness, creativity and resilience.

Senior Lecturer at Lincoln Bishop, Aggi Doughty, said: "The Heliraiser Challenge gives our first year Business students a unique opportunity to fundraise for this important cause, while practicing the leadership and management skills they learn about through their first module The New Professional.

“Opportunities like this are exactly why Lincoln Bishop stands out — our students don’t wait for the future. They start building it now.”

Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance are a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service. Their team of doctors and paramedics carry life-saving equipment on board the helicopter and critical care cars which means they take the equivalent of an emergency department directly to the scene of some of the most serious incidents in Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire. The charity receive no government funding and rely solely on the donations from our community to keep services operational.

Students were recently invited behind the scenes at the Air Ambulance headquarters in Lincoln for an exclusive insight into how the charity operates. Inspired by the stories they heard, they are now preparing to launch their own six-week fundraising campaigns from 27th October.
