Lincoln Bishop University is set to become part of Global University Systems, the international education group, strengthening the university’s local, national and international impact and ensuring its long-term financial sustainability.
Global University Systems and Lincoln Bishop University have today confirmed an agreement that the University will become part of the Global University Systems network, subject to obtaining the required regulatory approvals.
Today’s announcement builds on the successful strategic partnership between the University and Global University Systems that has been in place since November 2024. It will draw on the strength of Global University Systems’ global network and expertise to support delivery of the University’s ambitious Strategy 2030.
Under the agreement, Lincoln Bishop University will remain an autonomous University within the Global University Systems group, retaining its distinctive values, responsibility for academic standards, and commitment to providing a personalised student experience. The agreement will support continued investment in teaching, student support, digital capability and the University’s academic offer, helping Lincoln Bishop University to strengthen outcomes for students while building a sustainable long-term platform for future growth.
Alongside this, a separate charitable foundation, funded by the University, will be established to enable the University’s ambitious plans to grow its social and economic impact, building on its strong track record in expanding access to higher education.
Andrew Gower, Vice-Chancellor of Lincoln Bishop University, said: “Our University has so much to be proud of and huge potential to grow its profile, influence and impact. This agreement, building on our existing partnership, will allow us to really deliver on that potential.
“Global University Systems shares our confidence in the continued strength and future direction of the University and our ambitions are aligned around driving sustainable growth and advancing social and economic prosperity through excellence in teaching, research and knowledge exchange.
“Having met with leaders from other universities within the Global University Systems group in recent months, I’m excited about the possibilities for collaboration that will provide new opportunities for students and staff. Our University thriving as part of this global network will mean we can make even more of a positive difference within the communities we serve.”
Aaron Etingen, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Global University Systems said:
“Lincoln Bishop is a distinctive institution with a proud history, a clear sense of purpose and a strong commitment to its students and the communities it serves. We see significant potential to support the University’s future development while preserving the qualities which have driven its success and which make it special.
“Building on our existing strategic partnership, today’s announcement will enable the University to benefit from being part of a wider ecosystem with significant international experience, operational expertise and global reach. We look forward to working closely with the University’s leadership, staff, students and partners through the next stage of the process.”
The agreement will result in the creation of a new company, Lincoln Bishop University Limited, which will operate within Global University Systems.
Through this process, teaching and student support services will continue as normal, and the University will continue to keep staff, students, community partners and other key stakeholders engaged and informed.
