The Greater Lincolnshire Social Economy Academy is a UK Shared Prosperity Funded project aiming to support the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector in Greater Lincolnshire, to grow and develop.
Delivered by Lincoln Bishop University, the project is funded by the UK Government via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and is supported by Lincolnshire County Council and Business Lincolnshire.
With a social purpose and the mission statement of “Supporting individuals to realise their ambitions and create positive change in their communities and beyond”, Lincoln Bishop have been operating in the social economy space within Greater Lincolnshire for several years, providing specific sector support in the local area.
By offering a range of activities, the project aims to support local organisations to increase their professional development and relevant knowledge on subjects related to their operations and organisational missions.
Online masterclass sessions are delivered by Lincoln Bishop University academics who are experts in the subject. Upcoming online sessions discuss topics including Mental Health in the Workplace, Improving Organisational Efficiency, Risk Management and Everyday Moral Decision Making, with face-to-face networking opportunities are also available across the county.
All Greater Lincolnshire based VCFSE organisations are invited to attend, as well as community groups and businesses with a strong social or environmental purpose. More information about eligible organisations and districts can be found here.
The project aims to provide information that is evidence based and linked with current research findings, opportunities for attendees to network and build new connections, as well as chances to meet with funders and diversify income streams.
Kay Purle, Contract Manager for the Greater Lincolnshire Social Economy Academy at Lincoln Bishop University said: “The Greater Lincolnshire Social Economy Academy aims to democratise knowledge and build the capability of staff, volunteers, trustees, and board members within VCFSE organisations to meet future challenges.
“By connecting these organisations with cutting-edge researchers, the project enables access to up-to-date, evidence-based information and support in specific areas of interest.”
