Start Your Future at the UK’s No.1 for Teaching Quality (NSS 2025) - Apply for September 2026

Alongside Professor Dame Alison Peacock (Chief Executive of the CCoT), the group addressed the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on the Teaching Profession making the case for accreditation of pedagogic skills and knowledge as a profession development route for teachers in addition to existing National Profession Qualifications.

Dr Hounslow-Eyre first became involved in the Chartered College following on from his role as regional network coordinator for the Cambridge Primary Review Trust before becoming a founding fellow. Speaking after the group’s meeting with the APPG he described his excitement at the positive impact it could offer:

“It was a great opportunity to engage with a range of stakeholders at national level; and the proposal was warmly received”

BGU representation was strong at the APPG with Dr Nick Gee, Head of School of Teacher Development, also in attendance.
