Start Your Future at the UK’s No.1 for Teaching Quality (NSS 2025) - Apply for September 2026

In early March 2026, Lincoln Bishop University welcomed students and lecturers from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) as part of the UK-Netherlands Education Exchange, now in its third year.

The visit brought together academics, students, and local educators to share insights and experiences, giving Dutch MA students a valuable opportunity to experience life at an English university, as well as to engage with four schools across Lincolnshire.

We would like to share a special thanks to our partner schools: St Peter and St Paul Catholic Voluntary Academy, Lincoln St Christopher’s School, Nettleham Church of England Aided Junior School, and Lincoln Minster School.

As part of the programme, AUAS students joined teaching sessions with Lincoln Bishop’s BA Primary Education and Secondary PGCE students, creating meaningful opportunities for collaboration and the exchange of international perspectives for all involved. The exchange continued with an open-space discussion hosted by the University’s Health and Social Care team. Lincoln Bishop students were also invited to participate, contributing their own views and experiences to a lively and inclusive dialogue.

A highlight of the visit was the UKNL Exchange Conference, which featured a series of student-led workshops exploring topics such as managing polarisation in the classroom, developing innovative pedagogical visions, neurodiversity in education, and positive behaviour support.

The conference also included a thought-provoking panel discussion, where representatives from both universities considered some of the key challenges currently facing education. Local leaders, Lincoln Bishop staff and students, and Dutch visitors all contributed, sharing practices and perspectives that enriched discussion throughout the conference.

Philip Yeung, Head of Online Learning at Lincoln Bishop, said: “The energy and commitment shown by our schools, colleagues, and students has been genuinely inspiring. These exchanges remind us that learning is relational. By opening our practice to others, we deepen our understanding of our own work and strengthen what we do together, locally and internationally.”

Lincoln Bishop University students and staff are excited to be continuing the exchange and will be visiting the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) in April 2026.
