The Lincolnshire Open Research and Innovation Centre (LORIC) at Lincoln Bishop University is a hub for transformational change, helping organisations harness data to drive innovation and impact.

Through bespoke research and consultancy, LORIC enables businesses, charities, and public sector bodies to make informed decisions, develop new services, and measure their social value. Projects and evaluations undertaken on behalf of City of Lincoln Council and Lincolnshire mental health initiatives have led to strategic improvements in service delivery, and improved community engagement.

LORIC has delivered several business support projects which have supported over 200 SMEs in Greater Lincolnshire, offering tailored research, strategy, and innovation services which have enabled small businesses to transform their operations and scale sustainably. Currently, the Greater Lincolnshire Social Economy Academy, which supports Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise organisations, provides resources which build capacity within organisations and provides professional development to trustees, staff, and volunteers, empowering them to lead change in their communities.

LORIC also facilitates Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs), funded by Innovate UK, which create dynamic collaborations between businesses, universities, and graduates. These projects embed new expertise into organisations, driving strategic innovation and transformational growth.
