  1. 31. Eleanor Tierney
    Eleanor joined Lincoln Bishop as a Visiting Tutor in 2019 after many years of Secondary Computing classroom teaching and supporting trainee teachers. She has been Head of Department and ICT Across the Curriculum Lead, auditing, planning and delivering staff training as well as providing additional support for Gifted, Talented and More Able students. Eleanor has taught qualified teachers Internationally with particular emphasis on Assessment for Learning and Gifted, Talented and more Able students in Computing. Eleanor is Computing Lead for PGCE Secondary Initial Teacher Education and also supports the Science department. She is also a member of the Social Justice Research and Knowledge Exchange Unit. Eleanor’s Doctoral research focuses on exploring school based mentors’ training needs in general terms, and more specifically Computing mentors, and how this translates to supporting trainee Computing teachers strengthen the interplay between theory and practice.
  2. 32. Dr Darren Poole
    Dr Darren Poole is a lecturer in Military History at Bishop Grosseteste University. He holds a Ph.D. in Military History from the University of Chester. In addition to his History qualifications, he also has degrees in Geography, Education and Management. Before joining Lincoln Bishop, Darren taught History at both the University of Chester and University Centre, Shrewsbury. At Chester and Shrewsbury, he taught all aspects of Military History and also supported learners who were new to Higher Education, including international students joining English universities for the first time. Prior to becoming a lecturer, Darren was a Head of History and Geography in secondary schools across England. He still retains links to schools and education. His research interests include aerial warfare, counterinsurgency and the voices of the oppressed and ignored in conflict. He is particularly committed to promoting the ‘unheard’ voices of war i.e. those civilians neglected by conventional military accounts of combat. Darren is a published author and is currently working on a book examining the underreported violence that terrorists often inflict upon their own people. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
  3. 33. Dr Lucinda Newns
    Senior Lecturer in English Lucinda Newns is a Senior Lecturer in English specialising in postcolonial and environmental literature. She joined Lincoln Bishop in 2023 after previous positions at King’s College London, Queen Mary University of London and the University of Manchester. She has also held a research fellowship at the Education University of Hong Kong (2020-2021). She was awarded a Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship to complete her PhD at London Metropolitan University and holds an MA from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London) and a BA from New York University. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
  4. 34. Dr Ian Pownall
    Dr Ian Pownall is an experienced academic researcher having started his career as a political and policy researcher in the 1990s, he then progressed through various posts including Head of Department and Director of Teaching, Learning at Hull University and more recently, associate professor at Lincoln Business School and currently has a new role of LINK tutor for the BA programmes with ICON college. Ian has eclectic teaching and research interests that include; the public sector in general, policy making, strategy, pedagogy, international business, research methods and decision making.
  5. 35. Louise Boulter
    Dr Louise Boulter is a Senior Lecturer in the Business at Lincoln Bishiop University, where she is Operational Lead for the MSc International Business (IB) programme and top up MBA programme.  She is an experienced academic having held posts across a diverse range of Universities in the UK.  She teaches across a range of post graduate subject areas including organisational behaviour, organisational change, cross-cultural communication.  Louise is the author of many articles and books.  She has published several books with the Financial Times including one on organisational competitiveness which is translated into several languages.  Her most recent book “Organizational Change in Action” is published by Bloomsbury.  More recent research is focussed on sub-clinical psychopathy and its impact on organisations.  Louise supervises MSc and MBA dissertations and is a doctoral supervisor.

    Claudia McKibbin is a Business Lecturer. She holds an LLB in Law and a Master of Arts in Middle East Policy Studies from the University of Exeter. She also holds a Master of Arts in International Relations recognised by the Universidade de Brasília. As an academic, her experience includes teaching in both Portuguese and English, developing professionals, content creation, coaching and mentoring, and learner capability analysis.As a professional, Claudia has over 20 years international business experience, working in the USA, Brazil and UK for the following sectors:Manufacturing,Oil & Gas,Technology,Engineering,Economic Growth and,Health.Claudia is a member of the Chartered Management Institute, Institute of Directors, Cultural Intelligence Community of Practise, and works as a freelance consultant. Outside of academia, Claudia teaches Latin and Ballroom dancing, and enjoys spending time with her family.Claudia’s areas of interest and expertise include Cultural Intelligence, International Business, Continuous Improvement in Industry, EDI, Strategy and Risk Management, Law and Policy Compliance, Organisational Development, Conflict Resolution, Leadership and Management.
  7. 37. Nishi Bremner
    Nishi is a Senior Lecturer in Primary & Early Years Initial Teacher Education and ITaP Coordinator at Lincoln Bishop University, having joined the institution in September 2024. She brings over 25 years of successful teaching experience across diverse educational settings, including inner city schools in London, village schools, and international schools in Spain, before settling in Lincolnshire in 2011.Beginning her career after completing a PGCE in London, Nishi progressed through various teaching roles and year groups, ultimately serving as Deputy Head Teacher and Head of Academy at a school in a deprived area of Lincolnshire. Her extensive classroom experience provides a strong foundation for her current role in teacher education.Coaching and mentoring are central to Nishi's professional passion. She served as ECT Lead for 10 years, successfully supporting and mentoring Early Career Teachers in school settings. This commitment to developing new educators led to collaborative work with the EoETTC and SCITT programmes as a School Based Mentor and Quality Assurance Mentor. Her expertise in clinical practice, coaching and mentoring aligns seamlessly with her ITaP coordinator responsibilities.Nishi has also contributed to academic scholarship, co-authoring a chapter on supporting vulnerable children in the Early Years alongside Lincoln Bishop colleagues. Her areas of specialism include EYFS, Mathematics, Assessment and Science, with interests in English as an Additional Language (EAL) and supporting children and families from disadvantaged backgrounds.Through her experience and ongoing commitment to mentoring trainees, Nishi continues to champion the development of high-quality teaching practice and the support of newly qualified educators entering the profession.
  8. 38. Dr Ian Hardwick
    Dr Ian Hardwick specialises in the archaeology of later prehistory and the Roman period in Britain, together with the study of past landscapes (of all periods). He has undertaken several research projects looking at interactions between the Roman Empire and the local people(s) of central and northern Britain, together with the impacts these relations had upon surrounding frontier landscapes. Having worked for English Heritage / Historic England and in commercial archaeology on a wide range of archaeological survey projects (particularly in aerial survey), he gained his PhD at the University of York researching the region-wide impacts of the northern frontier of Roman Britannia (from Yorkshire to southern Scotland). This was followed by work as a post-doctoral research assistant on the Leverhulme Trust-funded ‘Beyond Walls: Reassessing Iron Age and Roman Encounters in Northern Britain’ project at the University of Edinburgh, and his current role as lecturer in archaeology at Lincoln Bishop University in Lincoln. His research interests include broader concepts of landscape, identity and frontier, together with how these themes interact (for Roman Britain and other empires of the ancient and more recent past).
  9. 39. Dr Alexandra Carlin
    PhD, MSc, PgCert, BSc (Hons), FHEA, RNA, DN. Dr Alexandra Carlin is the Programme Lead for Health and Social Care programmes at Lincoln Bishop University. She joined the university in September 2025, following academic appointments at the University of Nottingham and the University of Lincoln. During her time at UoN, she received a Lord Dearing Award, with the assessment team, in the School of Health Sciences.  As a District Nurse, Alex brings specialist expertise in community nursing, primary healthcare, wound care, complex care (including palliative care), leadership, management, and education. Her research focuses on nurse and health professional education, with a particular interest in exploring social worlds through a microsociological lens. Alex continues to write for publication in a variety of academic texts and journals, to promote evidence-based practice for professionals working in the field.  Alongside her academic role, Alex continues to practise clinically as a nurse at Nettleham Medical Practice, where she holds an honorary contract. Connect with Alex on LinkedIn.

    Leanne Chancellor serves as Head of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office and Interim University Secretary at Lincoln Bishop University, providing support in the strategic and operational leadership of effective governance, compliance, and executive support for the delivery of Strategy 2030.In this role, Leanne oversees the co-ordination of the University’s governance framework, supporting University Council, Senate, and key committees to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with regulatory requirements.Leanne plays a pivotal role in enabling the University’s ambition and Mission, ensuring that decision-making processes are informed, efficient, and compliant. She supports and advises governance, statutory compliance, and the smooth operation of executive functions, including the planning and delivery of major institutional events such as graduation ceremonies.Leanne has worked for Lincoln Bishop University for over 20 years and has developed extensive expertise in governance, executive administration, and stakeholder engagement. She has held a series of roles at the University, including research, international, and executive administration, before stepping into her current leadership position.
