He began his career as a secondary school music teacher and has since worked across secondary, further and higher education, teaching a wide range of subjects in diverse institutional and professional contexts.At Lincoln Bishop University, Philip has held a range of academic leadership roles, including Programme Leader, Deputy Head of Programmes, Associate Dean, Head of Online Learning, and most recently Deputy Dean and Head of the School of Lifelong Learning. He has played a key role in the design, validation and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate provision, with particular experience in online, blended and lifelong learning contexts.Philip has taught extensively across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Foundation Year, Education Studies and the MA Education.   3. 3. Dr Caroline Meredith
    ​As Head of Academic Partnerships, Caroline oversees Lincoln Bishop’s collaborative partnerships with a range of local Further Education colleges and other education and training providers across the UK. This involves working collaboratively with internal and external colleagues on portfolio development, academic standards, academic quality, and student experience. Additionally, as Senior Lecturer in Education, Caroline contributes to teaching, learning and assessment on a range of postgraduate education programmes. Caroline’s research interests have included transitions in childhood and young adulthood, digital technologies in pre-schools, and the professional development and career journeys of teaching assistants. She is a Fellow of the Society for Education and Training, a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Management Institute.
  4. 4. Dr Sheine Peart
    Dr Sheine Peart joined Lincoln Bishop University in April 2019 from Nottingham Trent University. She is an Associate Professor in Access, Equality and Inclusion and is based within the Research Team at Lincoln Bishop. She is Programme Leader for Education based PhDs and the Education Doctorate as well as contributing to other education courses. She has had a diverse career in education working as a secondary school teacher, youth worker and education adviser before moving into higher education (HE) in 2006. Immediately before teaching in HE she worked in the further education (FE) sector for 15 years teaching numeracy to learners on a wide variety of vocational programmes and managing teacher education programmes. She has wide knowledge of practical classroom issues, extensive experience of working with learners who present challenging behaviour and an outstanding track record in supporting students, helping them to identify and achieve their goals. Her outstanding doctoral research on the experience of Black male learners in the post-compulsory sector which privileged the voices of marginalized, silenced learners won the national BERA/SAGE award for research. Sheine’s education qualifications include a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE Secondary Education), Bachelor of Science (Hons.), Master of Arts in Education and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).   5. 5. Nishi Bremner
    Nishi is a Senior Lecturer in Primary & Early Years Initial Teacher Education and ITaP Coordinator at Lincoln Bishop University, having joined the institution in September 2024. She brings over 25 years of successful teaching experience across diverse educational settings, including inner city schools in London, village schools, and international schools in Spain, before settling in Lincolnshire in 2011.Beginning her career after completing a PGCE in London, Nishi progressed through various teaching roles and year groups, ultimately serving as Deputy Head Teacher and Head of Academy at a school in a deprived area of Lincolnshire. Her extensive classroom experience provides a strong foundation for her current role in teacher education.Coaching and mentoring are central to Nishi's professional passion. She served as ECT Lead for 10 years, successfully supporting and mentoring Early Career Teachers in school settings. This commitment to developing new educators led to collaborative work with the EoETTC and SCITT programmes as a School Based Mentor and Quality Assurance Mentor. Her expertise in clinical practice, coaching and mentoring aligns seamlessly with her ITaP coordinator responsibilities.Nishi has also contributed to academic scholarship, co-authoring a chapter on supporting vulnerable children in the Early Years alongside Lincoln Bishop colleagues. Her areas of specialism include EYFS, Mathematics, Assessment and Science, with interests in English as an Additional Language (EAL) and supporting children and families from disadvantaged backgrounds.Through her experience and ongoing commitment to mentoring trainees, Nishi continues to champion the development of high-quality teaching practice and the support of newly qualified educators entering the profession.

    Lucy is a Senior Lecturer on the MA in Education and iPGCE programmes at Lincoln Bishop University. With over a decade of experience in education, she brings a wealth of practical knowledge and academic expertise to her role. Background and Experience Lucy's career in education began in the secondary school setting, where she spent 9 years as a dedicated MFL teacher and Head of Department. She progressed quickly to leadership roles in curriculum, whole school improvement and teacher development. This hands-on experience has provided her with invaluable insights into the challenges and opportunities facing educators in today's diverse classrooms. Transition to Higher Education Later in her career, she transitioned to Initial Teacher Education (ITE), where she continued to develop her passion for preparing the next generation of educators. This move allowed her to combine her practical experience with cutting-edge educational research, enriching both her teaching and research interests.
  8. 8. Dr. Jessica Vernon
    Dr. Jessica Vernon is programme leader of MA Education and iPGCE. Prior to joining Lincoln Bishop Jessica earned her undergraduate degree in TESOL and Linguistics from Manchester Metropolitan University. Alongside her studies she completed her CELTA qualification and gained experience teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and English for Academic Purposes. She has experience teaching English to adults and young learners. In 2018 Jessica joined Lincoln Bishop as a student to complete her MA in Education with TESOL. Following this she returned to Lincoln Bishop as a lecturer in TESOL and Linguistics. Teaching on BA English Language and Teaching, and MA Education with TESOL. Her teaching focused on Language and Communication, Historical Linguistics, TESOL in Practice, Testing and Assessment in Language teaching, and Global English. In addition to this, she held the role of course director for the Trinity CertTESOL award where would guide level 5 students to gain an internationally recognised teaching qualification. Whilst working at Lincoln Bishop Jessica has completed her PhD part time, which was awarded by the University of Leicester in 2024. Thesis entitled, Motivational frameworks in a classroom context: exploring their utility in measuring LOTE learners' motivation. Her academic interests include: Modern foreign language motivation in anglophone countries, the impact of the learning environment and emotions on language learning, and supporting EAL learners.

  10. 10. Dr Lyndsay Muir
    Lyndsay Muir is a senior lecturer in teacher development. She teaches on the secondary PGCE, MEd and PhD/EdD programmes, with specialisms in Drama and English, wider professionalism and equity, diversity and inclusion. She is a graduate of Durham, Birmingham (UCE) and Manchester Universities. Her background is in applied drama, and she has worked in all phases of education, as well as in the creative industries and training sectors. Lyndsay’s PhD thesis was titled 'A Teacher's Progress - passing as a professional' and her research interests include teacher professional identity formation, gender, sexuality, and inclusion in the field of education. She is a founding member of BRIDgE (Base for Research in Diversity, Inclusion & Equity. Teaching Lyndsay teaches on the PGCE, MEd and PhD/EDD programmes and is a subject specialist for the PGCE Secondary Drama and English.
