On 17th July, Bishop Grosseteste University welcomed representatives from Civil Society Consulting to campus - a non-profit organisation, with a mission to advance health, equality and social solidarity by supporting UK civil society. They came along to deliver their Building Connections and Loneliness Reduction Training to local VCFSE organisations, as well as a range of university staff members, and to promote their work around 32 Steps to Togetherness

This event formed part of the calendar of events delivered by the Greater Lincolnshire Social Economy Academy - a UK Shared Prosperity Fund Project which aims to offer a range of training and development activities for VCFSE organisations and entrepreneurs with a clear social or environmental mission. The project does this by offering a blend of practical and academic online masterclasses, delivered by a range of academics from Bishop Grosseteste University in order to transfer their knowledge and expertise of relevant topics to the social economy sector.

Upcoming events include Increasing Awareness of Common Mental Health ConditionsPractical Project Management for VCFSE Organisations, and Improving Organisational Efficiency (Including AI Essentials).

As well as online sessions, the Social Economy Academy offers a series of face-to-face events to support personal and professional development within the sector. These include the Civil Society Consulting event held in July, a Funders Fair in November (in conjunction with Lincolnshire VCS) and a number of peer-to-peer networking and support sessions. The next of these will be held in Grimsby on 17th September.

Sessions are free to attend for eligible organisations and are aimed at charities, community groups, social enterprises and businesses with a clear social or environmental mission.
