Incoming Students

Through our global partnerships, we welcome students nominated by their home universities to attend Lincoln Bishop University (Lincoln Bishop) for programmes of short-term study (e.g., through the Erasmus+ and Teaching Internationally programmes).

Entry requirements and application process

If there is a partnership agreement between your university and Lincoln Bishop, you can potentially study at Lincoln Bishop for up to one semester by firstly following the outgoing mobility arrangements in place at your home university. Please contact the International Office at your home university in the first instance.

If successful, your home university will nominate you to attend Lincoln Bishop, formally notifying the International Office at Lincoln Bishop.

All incoming students will need an English language proficiency level of at least B2 and should be prepared to show evidence of language proficiency.

About Lincoln Bishop

When can I study at Lincoln Bishop?

Students are usually permitted to study up to one semester (less than six months), choosing between either autumn/winter semester or spring/summer semester.

Autumn/winter semester (semester 1)

End of September – end of January

Nominations deadline (official nominations sent by staff at your home university): mid-May

Application deadline (submission of online application form via Lincoln Bishop Student Gateway): late-May

Spring/summer semester (semester 2)

End of January – end of May

Nominations deadline (official nominations sent by staff at your home university): early November

Application deadline (submission of online application form via Lincoln Bishop Student Gateway): mid-November

What can I study at Lincoln Bishop?

In most circumstances, students choose to study 2-4 modules from across our undergraduate programmes, except for the following:

  • Programmes featuring ‘Qualified Teacher Status’ (QTS)
  • Modules with a placement
  • Foundation Degree programmes
  • Foundation Year modules
  • Apprenticeships

Please note you may be required to provide evidence of a police record check from your home country in certain circumstances. We will advise you if this is the case.

Living in Lincoln

Where will I stay in Lincoln?

Lincoln Bishop reserves a set number of on-campus accommodation for Inbound Study Abroad students every semester. The University’s Accommodation team will contact you to arrange your accommodation in either Constance Stewart Hall, Wickham Hall & our new Student Village. After you complete your online application form. Your accommodation is usually charged for the period of time you are studying with us (i.e., one semester, therefore 20 weeks).

How do I get to Lincoln?

Lincoln Bishop is situated in the East Midlands region of England, approx. 3 hours away from London by road or rail. Once your application has been accepted, you can plan your journey to Lincoln. You may find these web pages helpful:
