Building on Alison’s 30 plus years of experience in working in the Career Development sector since studying the Level 6 Diploma in Careers Guidance at Napier University, Alison is a passionate advocate of professional careers guidance support in a range of contexts, within educational settings and the wider community.

Alison has worked in Careers and Connexions Services in Norfolk, Leeds and Lincolnshire as a practitioner in schools and community settings, leading on policy development around post 16 participation and as a delivery manager. Here at LBU, she managed a 7 and half year ESF and Lottery funded project, supporting out of work adults into employment and learning. Her main areas of expertise and interest are services to support the marginalised in society, particularly young people who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment and Training) or at risk of becoming so, having been County Lead for 8 years. She has an interest in how we make best use of tools and techniques to build career management skills within our clients, allowing them to have greater control over their future education and careers, whilst always maintaining an ethical approach.
