  1. 11. Dr Ursula McKenna
    Dr Ursula McKenna is Senior Research Fellow in Implicit Religion at Lincoln Bishop where she is located within the Department of Theology and the World Religions and Education Research Unit. Upon completion of her BA (QTS) she was awarded an Economic and Social Research Council MA studentship and obtained an MA (with distinction) for her work on religious education for children with special educational needs in the primary school. While combining a part-time research post with a job-share class teaching position she then completed her doctorate. Her research was an evaluation of the Building E- Bridges programme, a project which advocated the use of email in primary schools to promote interfaith dialogue amongst pupils across the UK. For fourteen years Ursula taught across the primary age range and as research fellow at the University of Warwick (1999-2021) she contributed to the PGCE Primary and Early Years Religious Education module and the MA in Religious Education by distance learning course. She has undertaken supervision of dissertation students on BA and MA Education Studies degrees and has co-supervised research students. For twelve years she was editorial assistant for the British Journal of Religious Education, co-ordinating the refereeing process for all submissions and special issues.
  2. 12. Revd Canon Professor Leslie J Francis
    Leslie Francis holds the part-time post of Professor of Religions, Psychology and Education. He works with doctoral students in fields that connect religious studies, theology, psychology, and education. Before joining Lincoln Bishop University he held chairs in Pastoral Theology at Lampeter, Practical Theology at Bangor, Religions and Education at Warwick, and Religions and Psychology at Warwick. Currently he holds visiting positions in universities in Pretoria and Newfoundland and serves as Canon Theologian at Liverpool Cathedral.
  3. 13. Dr Sunny Dhillon
    Sunny works as a Senior Lecturer across the Education Studies and Theology, Ethics and Society degree courses. He conducted his doctoral research through the Philosophy department at Cardiff University, focussing on the concept of utopia through the works of Friedrich W. Nietzsche, Ernst Bloch and Theodor W. Adorno.Sunny’s research interests include Critical Theory (The Frankfurt School), Nietzsche, Jiddu Krishnamurti, Utopia and Philosophy of Education.   4. 14. Dr Kimberley Hudspeth
    Kimberley is a Lecturer in Psychology here at Lincoln Bishop University, where she specialises in developmental psychology; the study of how behaviour changes throughout our lives. She leads on a range of modules that explore the many dimensions of human behaviour, including:Lifespan Psychology – where we explore development from before birth to old age (fun fact: did you know babies can remember sounds they heard before they were born?!)Evolutionary Psychology – where we will consider how our minds may have been shaped by our evolution.Psychology in Organisations – where we will apply psychological principles to workplace behaviour and dynamics.Research Methods – where I guide students through the design and analysis of psychological experiments (and how to write up a report!) 
  5. 15. Dr Lianxin (Megan) Li
    Dr. Megan Li is a Lecturer in English Language and Teaching with a strong interdisciplinary background in language education and applied linguistics. Her affiliation with Lincoln Bishop University (Lincoln Bishop) began in 2021 as a guest speaker, where she delivered sessions on research methodology to MA students. From 2021 to 2024, she served as an Associate Lecturer in English Language and Teaching, contributing to both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. She has taught across the BA English Language and Teaching and the MA Education with TESOL programmes, with a focus on modules such as First Language Acquisition, Second Language Acquisition, English for Academic Purposes, the psychology of language learning and TESOL in Practice. In addition, she was also appointed as a dissertation supervisor and assessment feedback coordinator for the MA Education programme in 2024 at the University of Sheffield.Dr. Li holds a BA in English Education Studies from China and completed her MA in TESOL with Education at Lincoln Bishop in 2019. She was awarded her PhD in 2025 by the University of Leicester. Her doctoral research examined learner motivation and psychological needs satisfaction in the context of learning languages other than English (LOTE) in Chinese universities, drawing on Self-Determination Theory as a central theoretical framework.Her research interests lie in LOTE teaching and learning, motivation in language education, individual differences in language learning, positive psychology in second language acquisition, and English for Academic Purposes. She is particularly interested in how psychological and cognitive factors influence motivation in language learning in diverse educational contexts.
  6. 16. Dr Lucinda Newns
    Senior Lecturer in English Lucinda Newns is a Senior Lecturer in English specialising in postcolonial and environmental literature. She joined Lincoln Bishop in 2023 after previous positions at King’s College London, Queen Mary University of London and the University of Manchester. She has also held a research fellowship at the Education University of Hong Kong (2020-2021). She was awarded a Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship to complete her PhD at London Metropolitan University and holds an MA from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London) and a BA from New York University. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
  7. 17. Dr Judith Naseby
    Dr Judith Naseby has more than 25 years’ experience in senior academic leadership in higher education, within the areas of Psychology, Sport, and Health. Prior to joining Lincoln Bishop University, she spent twelve years as Head of Sport, Health and Exercise at the University of Hertfordshire.She studied for a BSc (Hons) in Psychology at the University of Aberdeen, a Masters in Sport Science at Loughborough University and a PhD in Sport Psychology at Liverpool JMU.Alongside her academic career, Judith has over 30 years’ consultancy experience in sport, working with athletes, coaches, and governing bodies from grassroots through to elite level. She has worked with numerous elite athletes and coaches, including Olympic, World, and Commonwealth medal winning track and field athletes and coaches, several premier level sports teams, international and Olympic swimming medallists and coaches, and elite tennis players competing at numerous tour events including Wimbledon.Her research interests centre around two main areas: stress, anxiety and performance, and positive psychology and wellbeing. She is particularly interested in how individuals manage stress and anxiety, whether they are elite athletes striving for gold medals or people managing the pressures of everyday life, including students. Her positive psychology work explores happiness, wellbeing, and how individuals can be supported to thrive rather than simply survive.
  8. 18. Zoe Richardson
    Zoe joined the Psychology Team as a Placement Officer in 2023. She also works as an Academic Notetaker in Lincoln, supporting university students with disabilities, and as an Exam Invigilator at a secondary school in North East Lincolnshire. She has a BEd (Hons) in Primary Education and a Level 3 certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement. Work placements were an important part of Zoe’s teaching degree. She currently volunteers with Dementia UK and once volunteered as a Rainbow Guide Leader.You’ll get to know Zoe in your second year when you do work experience linked to The Placement Module and an assignment. Zoe liaises with you, the Psychology Department and the organisation with whom you choose to volunteer. Her objective is that you have a positive volunteering experience that supports your professional development. She’s also keen for you to begin volunteering on time. She’ll share volunteering opportunities with you, encourage you to be organised and will keep track of your progress.
