✨ Your future. Your place. Your story. Come and see what makes us different at one of our Open Days, picture your future at the UK’s No.1 university for student satisfaction. 🎓

This module will introduce students to the working environment of Health and Social Care, incorporating the history, development and current climate. Contemporary issues are analysed, including the diversity of settings, delivery and roles within health and social care.  Inequalities are introduced, highlighting social determinants of health, well-being and illness within the context of health and social care practice.

The students will be encouraged to explore their own values and the relationship of these to wider society and health and social care practice.

The module also incorporates a formative essay that enables students to receive and reflect on feedback on essential academic components in higher education writing in order to develop these to feedforward into all future academic assessments.

Applications open soon.

Admissions Process

If you are applying for individual or bundled modules through the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE), we will consider your application based on the level of study and the requirements of the module or modules you want to take.

You will need to show that you have the right knowledge, skills and preparation to study successfully at the level you are applying for. This could include previous qualifications, professional development, work experience or other relevant learning. If you have completed relevant prior learning at another institution, we may also be able to take this into account through our Recognition of Prior Learning process.

If you do not have the usual entry qualifications, we may still be able to consider your application. Please speak to our enquiries team for more information.

You do not need previous employment in health and social care to apply for Level 4 modules. You will need to show that you are ready to study at this level and meet any placement or safeguarding requirements linked to your chosen module. Some modules with placement activity may also help you build early sector experience and support your next steps into employment or further study.
